Chelan Fall 2010

We were lucky enough to get away for a little vacation this week!! We went to our favorite vacation spot, Lake Chelan! The weather was perfect. The scenery was beautiful. Everything about Chelan makes it such a perfect family trip!

We did lots of relaxing, swimming, playing, picnicking, napping and eating! Wes could seriously live there year round!

It was SO SURREAL to have the whole family in the pool. I grew up going to Chelan with my family and all of my favorite memories of Chelan are of everyone in the pool on a hot day. It was amazing. Liv had fun splashing! It was HARD to get her to look up from the water enough to take a picture. :)

We had a perfect dinner the first night with seriously the best pizza I've had in a LONG time out on our deck with live music playing (from an event down on the beach)! It was beautiful.

Here we are waiting for our dinner to be ready! We killed some time across from the pizza place at a little park to watch the sunset.

Poor girl was TUCKERED OUT! She was even too tired to hold her head up for a pic!

Had to show you Liv's #1 look these days. That DANG tooth is ANY DAY. Poor thing bites her lip over it all the time!

We went to a new winery that was absolutely beautiful (Four Lakes). I'd like to go back with a group and sit out on the deck that has views of 4 lakes surrounded by vineyards. It was amazing.

Liv had fun crawling around. (I know, we're horrible parents. How DIRTY was that? But she was fussing and it was the only thing that made her happy. SUCKERS)

Then we were off to our all time favorite winery, Benson. We had THE BEST TIME!!! We bought a glass and a meat/cheese platter and had a picnic with Liv in the shade. The VIEW is ridiculous. I will forever remember that picnic. The sun was warm, the shade was cool and we were all in a great mood. We spent a perfect afternoon being a family in the shade.

It was BEAUTIFUL! This is my top 10 favorite places EVER. Wes and I would DO ANYTHING to win the lottery, buy the winery and just live there full time. The view alone gets us every time!

We had a great time. I personally enjoyed a leisurely swim in the crystal clear lake followed by 20 mins in the lakefront hot tub. AAAAAHHHHHHHH. Talk about relaxing!

On our way home, we decided to swing by Leavenworth to walk around, window shop and eat lots of good food! If you've never been to Leavenworth, it's worth a little day trip. The whole town is Bavarian themed and is surrounded by the most amazing mountain peaks! The best time of year to go is Christmas time when it's covered in snow and all lit up with Christmas lights! We are definitely going to come back!

About 15 minutes outside of Leavenworth there is a really great winery hidden in a small valley at the base of HUGE mountains. It's over a tiny bridge and down a dirt road. We visited Boudreaux Winery a few years ago and LOVED what we tasted. So we thought we'd go back to check it out. It was beautiful! Their wines are really really good (BUT REALLY REALLY PRICEY). We got lucky and were able to taste the reserve which is a $100 bottle (and to me, that's ridiculous!). SO GOOD! It was a fun stop. Good times!
