Annual Trip to the Market!

Every year, my mom, Ken, Wes and I head down to Pike place Market on Christmas eve for a day of shopping and people watching.

This year we weren't able to get to the market on Christmas eve so we decided to do it yesterday instead.

We had a really great day. This year, Dag Rune and Katrina came along to share in the tradition.

The day includes a trip to the German meat shop for some snacks, the french bakery for fresh bread for dinner, fresh veggies and fruit, cheeses and olives from DiLorentis, a wine and cheese tasting and a trip to Jack's Seafood to hand pick 10 POUNDS of clams for dinner.

The dinner is always the same. Two kinds of steamed clams, artichoke with melted butter and fresh bread for dipping. IT WAS SOOO GOOD. This year we made 5 pounds of prosciutto and thyme clams and 5 pounds of pesto clams. They were so, so good I can't even explain it in words. Thanks mom, for a great night!

At the wine and cheese tasting.

Yummy apps!
This is the apron my Godmother, Janet, gave to me for Christmas. Her mom embroidered the calalily on it. Isn't that beautiful? Such a sweet gift.
