1 Month Old!

My little sweetie is 1 month old! I can't believe it. This month has FLOWN by.

Colette, you continue to be pure joy and make all of us smile. You absolutely love to sit and look around. You are the most observant and alert baby I've ever known! The second someone walks into the room your head whips around and your eyes B-LINE to them. You've been able to track people and their voices for a while now. You focus on people's faces better than any 1 month old I've seen. It's like you are looking right through us! The best part about this focus is that you are now smiling (on purpose) at our funny faces. You've been doing that for a few days now and it melts our hearts. You are also SO STRONG. You surprise people who hold you everyday with how high you've always been able to hold your head up and move it around. You launch yourself off my shoulder and land on my face so you can try and suck on my chin or nose. Since the day you were born you were like this. When we put you on the ground for tummy time you almost push yourself over with your strength. One time you were straight up on your side/hips before you rolled back down to your tummy. Your grandma and I were in shock!!! What three week old does this? It was crazy! You are a mover and a shaker and I expect you'll continue to be a very busy girl.

You are starting to get a little schedule worked out. You are still eating about every 3 hours. You wake up around 6/7 AM for breakfast and then pretty much sleep through the morning only waking enough to eat. You wake up around 1 pm for some wide awake time and then you and I take a nap together in my bed while Liv does the same in hers. (It's pure bliss) Then around 5 pm you are up and alert again for about an hour or two before you pass out again. Your final round of awake time starts around 8 PM where you get off and on fussy (with your SHARPP velociraptor screech) until your last feeding around 9:30/10 PM. Lately you've been awake/napping/awake/napping around this time before we put you down for the night around 10:30/11. You wake up to eat around 2/3 AM and then sleep until 6/7 AM. Your 2/3 AM feeding can be anywhere from 20 mins to 2 hours. We've spent some good quality time together at 3 AM when you've decided it's time to be WIDE AWAKE and happy to spent some quiet time with mommy. As exhausting as those nights are, I cherish the time with you.

As of now it looks like you might have brown eyes as Liv's eyes were PURE BLUE by now and yours are a beautiful deep, dark gray/green color. We're hoping you have your daddy's tan skin too!!

We couldn't be more in love with you. We can't wait to see what you do next. We also kind of want to freeze time and keep you just like this forever.
